Nitpicking
This will probably be my last entry about the new album until I’m ready to announce its completion. I’m in the second-to-last stage of the process: nitpicking. 99% of the recording is done, and all the songs sound very close to what their final versions will sound like. Still, I’m not quite satisfied with them. So now I spend my music-making time listening to songs over and over, looking for cracks and trying to paper them. It’s slow and often frustrating, but it’s inspiring to think that when I’m done, the songs will have gone from good to really good. And then will come the final stage: getting people with fresh ears to nitpick. All this nitpicking might take a while, but it should be worth it.

I’m so excited to hear this stuff. I love your material, and anything new to listen to makes me exceptionally happy. Keep up the coolness.
And let me know if you do any gigs in New England.
